Group Facilitator

About the Service / Department Oremi is a specialist service which provides support to African and Afro-caribbean clients with enduring mental health. The service provides a person centred approach to maximise recovery.About the role Be responsible for the support and well-being of a caseload of African, Caribbean, and Arabic speaking service users allocated from across the team using holistic, person-centred support planning with SMART targets and the recovery star using the recovery approach to enable them to increase independence, maintain their accommodation and enjoy a good quality of life.Ensure that specific services and activities are provided to meet the needs of African, Caribbean, and Arabic speaking service users.Minimise unplanned and emergency hospital admissions for mental health relapse.To formulate, implement and review support plans with service users and associated professionals.Liaise effectively and advocate on behalf of service users with other agencies involved in their support as where appropriate.Encourage service users to build self-confidence and to have engagement with health an
d social networks including faith-based groups and informal sources of support.Contribute to the overall running of the day centre service.Devise effective interventions for service users who are ‘hard to engage'.About you Ability to support service users to achieve their goals & aspirations in a culturally appropriate setting.Excellent knowledge of issues related to signs, symptoms, and treatments of mental illness; ability to assess service users declining mental health and take appropriate action.Ability to help service users to acquire, develop or enhance their daily living skills.Experience of promoting, implementing, maintaining Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion good practice.Knowledge of health and safety relevant to the role including lone working within a community setting. Please note that if you are offered a role with Hestia, you will be issued a conditional offer based on satisfactory references and a Basic or Enhanced DBS check. Disability confident Hestia is a disability confident employer, committed to the employment and career development of in
