SalaryWe are working with an established SME business in the peak district to appoint a Group Financial Controller. This is a pivotal onsite role and is number one in finance and part of the leadership team managing the Finances throughout an exciting period of growth over the next 2-3 years.
You will be ACA/ACCA/ACMA qualified with 5+ years’ experience in a similar role ideally within a private/owner managed business.
The Opportunity:
As Group Financial Controller you will report directly to the MD and have responsibility for a small team and will oversee all financial activities ensuring compliance with financial regulations and provide strategic financial guidance.
What you will be doing:
- Manage all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Statutory accounts preparation which is done inhouse
- Vat returns
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets
- Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process
- Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage for financial analysis and reporting
- Provide financial analysis to support decision-making processes
- Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term financial plans
What we are looking for:
- Fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Experience in an owner managed business
- Proven track record of leading a finance function and having full accountability
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
- Solid understanding of financial management and reporting
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage
