Role purpose
HSBC is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to join our team as the Group Head of AI Execution. This senior executive role will be responsible for
- Establishing and governing group-wide AI/GAI principles and standards across product development cycle
- Coordinating external AI engagement and promoting AI (via events, speaking, academia etc) within the industry
- Engaging with key regulators to form industry-wide consensus on AI evolution,
- Enabling the bank internally by developing internal AI learning opportunities,
- Partnering with the Global Businesses and Functions, to ensure we deliver AI use cases at pace and scale.
- Partner with risk leads to ensure all enterprise risks, including non-financial risks, regulatory compliance and financial crime risk are captured, understood, and clearly communicated.
- Manage partnerships and external ecosystems to leverage tools, techniques, and propositions, and augment our AI and technology agenda.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Group Strategy on AI ensuring alignment with the organization's vision and strategic objectives.
- Evangelize AI internally and externally, promote AI within the industry, including key regulators.
- Governance: ensuring that a set of standards and frameworks are in place that will help establish, reinforce, and govern Group-wide AI/GAI principles and standards across the full 3-stage product and capability development cycle: Ideation/Innovation , Proof of Concept, and Scaling.
- Create visibility and structure to understand the footprint of AI across the bank.
- Provide guidance and support to establish AI/GAI Model Framework working with Group Head of AI Research & Development
- Empower the HSBC workforce by partnering with Learning and Development team which will enable bank-wide upskilling in concepts such as Gen-AI, ML, LLM etc.
- Establish and be responsible for a set of strategic, integrated, and balanced AI/GAI Objectives & Key Results spanning four categories: 1) Customer/Colleague, 2) Financial, 3) Technology/Operations, and 4) Risk.
- Industry Thought Leadership: represent the bank in industry forums, conferences, and events, sharing insights and best practices related to AI in banking
Leadership & Teamwork
- Lead and manage the AI/GAI Strategy, and AI/GAI Communities of Practice.
- Represent the AI strategy and enablement at the HSBC Group AI/GAI Committee, ensuring adherence to standards, principles, and ethical/responsible use.
- Develop and maintain world-class University & Industry partnerships to drive innovation and collaboration.
