Job description

Group Lead - Compliance Monitoring

At YBS, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional products and services to our customers and members whilst ensuring robust compliance with regulatory standards. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the Group Lead - Compliance Monitoring role to join our second line of defence Compliance team and drive our compliance initiatives forward.

The role is based at our office in the centre of Leeds with a mix of office-based and home working allowing you to shape and oversee the compliance framework, ensuring the Society operates within regulatory standards, while providing you with the flexibility to balance work and personal commitments.

About the role

As the Group Lead - Compliance Monitoring you will:

  • Develop a comprehensive annual Compliance Monitoring plan and ensure its timely and effective execution, addressing key compliance areas and emerging risks.

  • Lead Whistleblowing triage and where appropriate lead investigations on behalf of the Compliance Director ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements

  • Deliver detailed compliance reports to senior management and the Board

  • Mentor and develop the Compliance team.

About you

To excel in this role, you will need to bring the following skills and expertise:

  • Experience in Compliance Monitoring within financial services.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role with a proven track record.
  • Deep understanding of financial regulations and risk management practices.
  • Expertise in using Compliance Monitoring tools and data analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder management.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills to develop and implement effective solutions.
