Group Management Accountant / Knowsley / Salary £40,000 - £50,000
We are seeking an experienced Group Management Accountant to join our clients growing finance team based in Knowsley. Our client is a high growth, private equity backed manufacturing organisation, and we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join their growing team.
Key responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the accurate financial reporting of one of the entities within this growing group. In this hands-on role, you will prepare monthly management accounts including detailed commentaries.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management accounting within the manufacturing sector.
- Conduct regular WIP valuations
- Work closely with the production team to understand the status of ongoing projects and calculate accurate WIP values.
- Monitor and control stock levels to optimise working capital.
- Conduct periodic stock reconciliations and ensure accuracy in stock records.
- Cost Analysis - perform cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Analyse variances between standard costs and actual costs, providing explanations for any discrepancies.
- You will assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Work closely with department heads to understand budget requirements and provide financial support.
Key skills:
- Proven experience working within a management accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of WIP valuations, stock management, and cost analysis.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
