£45,000 - £55,000 per annum

Our client, a well-recognised manufacturing business located in Plymouth, is currently seeking a dynamic Group Management Accountant to join their expanding team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This role offers an environment where your contribution can truly impact the company. In your role as the Group Management Accountant, you'll report directly to the Finance Director and work closely with the Board of Directors. You will be responsible for guiding a small yet vital finance team to drive the company toward its strategic goals.

The responsibilities:

• Producing detailed monthly management accounts and providing insightful recommendations.
• Overseeing reconciliations, journal postings, and month-end closing.
• Ensuring daily operations adhere to robust financial controls and procedures.
• Handling the preparation and submission of Quarterly Group VAT returns.
• Managing Accounting systems (Sage 200 and Sage Payroll).
• Creating year-end packs and collaborating with auditors.
• Engaging in ad-hoc projects in support of the Finance Director and Board of Directors.

The candidate:

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA) preferred, ideally with a manufacturing background.
• Proficient in accounting and software skills as expected.
• Ability to lead and develop teams.
• Drive proactive improvements within the department.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate across various departments.
