Group Sales Development Manager

The ‘Simpex | Samphire’ group has an exciting opportunity for a driven individual in the role of Group Sales Development Manager (GSDM) to represent both companies in driving new business to the group.

The GSDM will be backed up by an outstanding team across 2 businesses, with 4 offices, covering a wide range of transport and customs activities, with a particular emphasis on excellent customer service. The successful applicant will be responsible for lead-generation all the way through to handover, liaising with the relevant office/personnel, and covering the London and home counties areas in the first instance, but being happy to travel further afield when/where necessary in time.

Your main tasks include, among others:

• Build and maintain a customer base to expand revenue streams
• Plan personal sales activity effectively with regular contact via telephone, email and face-to-face communication
• Act as an ambassador for both companies and always provide exceptional customer service
• Self-generate appointments with new accounts to maximise opportunities
• Provide quotations, advice, and guidance to resolve queries and obtain feedback, ensuring follow-up and resolutions are delivered, and shared regularly with management
• Attend networking, exhibitions and other sales related events
• Participate in market campaigns and understand related literature
• Obtain and maintain excellent knowledge of Simpex Express & Samphire Cargo, and their services/strengths
• Ensure you comply and follow company values

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• Be organised, resilient and self-motivated with a positive mindset
• Commercially focused with a strong sense of customer service and a confident problem-solver, and communicator
• Knowledge of customs and/or logistics is essential with at least some sales experience
• Basic IT knowledge, preferably including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• English language required. Must reside in the United Kingdom and either be a British citizen or have an unrestricted work Visa for the UK, or settled status for EU citizens
