There may be very occasional travel to Dublin and London

We’re looking for a Statutory Accountant to join us and help add strength to our finance team and to support the business growth we are experiencing through improved reporting, forecasting and analysis.

This person will work closely with the tax accountant, sitting within our head office finance team and have regular contact with the Welcome Break Senior Leadership Team, the overseas Applegreen Group finance team and external auditors.

What will your role look like?

You will be responsible for:

• Completion of annual financial statements in UK GAAP, including group consolidation and workings behind the financial statements and compliance with applicable standards and regulations
• Production of subsidiary financial statements ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations
• IFRS accounting adjustments required for monthly Group Reporting
• Influencing and supervising the Group’s accounting policies and procedures, including revenue recognition, acquisition consolidation
• Technical support to new projects with accounting and finance implications.
• Managing relationships with the Applegreen Finance Team and the Group’s auditors.

About you

Ideally we are looking for someone who has:

• Hold a professional accounting qualification and would ideally be educated to degree level
• Accounting practice, or relevant experience
• Working knowledge of developments in accounting standards (IFRS and UK GAAP) and corporate governance/ reporting
