Alstom is the UK & Ireland’s leading supplier of new trains, train services, and signalling infrastructure projects. It has built just under 40% of the UK’s mainline train fleet, all the fleets currently in service with London Underground and Dublin’s LUAS.

 

It is building the UK’s biggest train programme in a generation – AVENTRA - for seven of the UK’s largest train operating companies, is ramping up to build the next generation of Greater Dublin’s commuter trains, DART+ as well as 54 HS2 high-speed trains in a Joint Venture. Alstom also supports 66% of the UK fleet through its Services business and is the UK’s leading CP6 signalling & infrastructure provider.

 

Employing 6,000 people across the UK and Ireland, we design, build and test trains at the UK’s largest end-to-end train manufacturing factory in Derby and operate major sites at Widnes, Crewe, Ilford and Plymouth, as well as 30 train services depots across the UK&I.

 

Purpose of role

  • Relying on Alstom GSI roll-out methodology, he/she is in charge of ensuring GSI (Global Single Instance) Core Model (ERP processes) is correctly implemented and used, according to processes & rules, configuration and data.
  • His/her main activities are to lead data cleansing operations, to communicate on changes, to perform end-users & newcomers training on processes, business rules and tools.
  • The Key User has an extensive knowledge of current practices and new processes.
  • He/she is the local process ambassador of his/her functional stream and has a critical role when it comes to implementing new Core Model.

 

 

What are my key responsibilities?

 

  • Provide in-depth knowledge on local business processes
  • Confirm data scope, extraction, cleanse & prepare data according to plan, validate conversions & loads
  • Test new functionalities and raise incidents or defects
  • Communicate on changes to local management and end-users Adapt / create on-site training material and documentation
  • Perform power users (if any) and end-users training
  • Contribute to cutover plan elaboration and execute plan
  • Confirm business roles with needed authorizations
  • Ensure the appropriate support to end-users post Go Live
  • Contribute to functional stream continuous improvement (provide counterparts with good practices…)

 

Candidate Requirements

 

Essential

 

• Graduate degree or extensive experience in impacted stream such as engineering

• English proficiency – is able to use English on a daily basis for speaking, reading and writing purposes

• Analytical skill

• Teamwork and collaboration with other functions

• Ability to work in a multicultural environment

• Disciplined, rigorous, proactive.

 

 

Desirable

 

• Previous experience in ERP implementation

• Continuous Improvement awareness

• Experience in end-users trainin
