Job Description
Insight Investment are looking for a Guideline Drafting & Review Specialist to join the Guideline Management team in London. The team are responsible for the drafting, implementation, coding, and monitoring of investment guidelines. They are integral to front office processes and work closely with the fund management team and client solutions group, to ensure that guidelines are operationally sound, and the investment risk limits are adhered to.
Role Responsibilities
•Draft and/or review investment guidelines prior to execution, to ensure:
- The client’s intent and strategy has been accurately captured in the guidelines. Where required, challenge the client team on the suitability of guidelines against the client’s intent.
- Guidelines are in line with Insight’s standard templates and key principles.
- Implementation frameworks and investment risk limits are operationally supportable and non-ambiguous.
•Engage with the Client Solutions Group and Fund Managers throughout the guideline review process.
•Attend guideline execution meetings with the Client Solutions Group, Fund Managers, and other teams. Collaborate with the attendees to ensure guidelines are ready for execution.
•Where client needs demand unsupportable processes, work to offer standard alternatives. If standardisation is not possible, engage other stakeholders to develop risk mitigants.
•Manage the Fixed Income and LDI guideline templates:
- Proactively adapt existing templates in line with the changing business environment.
- Draft new templates where required.
- Play an integral role in the relevant guideline committee meeting.
•Involvement with wider Guideline Management initiatives and projects.
Experience Required
•Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or related subjects.
•Excellent written language skills.
•Completed or looking to complete IMC and/or CFA.
•Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
•Knowledge of derivatives, fixed income instruments and associated strategies.
•Proactive, energetic, and enthusiastic individual.
•Willingness to challenge colleagues’ proposals and suggest improvements in a constructive manner.
•Confidence to engage with a variety of people from around the business, including client directors, fund managers, solution designers, dealers, client services.
•Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a time-pressured environment and handle multiple ongoing tasks.
•Keen to work in a mainly qualitative manner but with ability to work in a quantitative manner when required.
•Ability to work independently.
