SalaryChichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Hair & Beauty Assistantat our Crawley campus. You will join us on a part time (30 hours), permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary ofpro rata of GBP22,079 per annum (i.e. GBP14,803) plus pro rata of GBP610.08 Crawley Weighting Allowance per annum (i.e. GBP409).
The Hair & Beauty Assistant role:
Crawley College has improved the in-house salon provisions for staff and students.
We are looking to recruit a Hair and Beauty Technician to work within a small team lead by our Salon Team Leader.
We are looking for an experienced person to work as part of the Hair and Beauty Team within our state-of-the-art industry standard Hair and Beauty Salons. The area has a high volume of custom throughout the academic year and you will be required to undertake general salon duties and to contribute to the College s professional hair and beauty services.
Key Responsibilities of ourHair & Beauty Assistant:
- Organising daily activities within the learning environment, including the preparation and maintainance of resources, services and housekeeping.
- Providing assistance to individuals or groups of students within the learning environment.
- Implementing and maintaining the regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health legislation, including the reviews of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and undertake risk assessments.
- Monitoring and maintaining equipment.
- Cleaning and maintaining working spaces, develop a working environment and provide technical support and assistance for projects.
- Distribution and collection of tools as required on a daily basis.
- Carrying out customer care duties as requested and use the electronic booking system.
Our ideal Hair & Beauty Assistant should have the below skills and experience:
- Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area
- Level 2 in literacy and numeracy, or willingness to work towards
- Working knowledge of the relevant vocational area
- Relevant industrial/subject experience
- The ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
