Handover Manager – Commissioning

Role Overview:
As a Handover Manager, you will report into the Senior Commissioning Manager.
You will oversee the entire handover process and defect management from project conception to client handover and throughout the defect period, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor project progress and issue regular reports to senior management.
- Chair project documentation reviews with the project teams.
- Regularly communicate with client representatives to discuss progress and address any upcoming issues.
- Ensure the BMS is implemented regarding handover until the final project completion.
- Ensure sufficient trained personnel are available for the project and that they understand their responsibilities.
- Apply detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from conception to end-user acceptance.
- Engage in external networking, conferences, and associations to stay current with industry changes and innovations.
- Perform other duties, training, and hours of work as reasonably required, consistent with the role's level of responsibility.
- Maintain practical knowledge and appreciation of all technical disciplines involved in delivering water and wastewater design and build projects.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, preferably within the water industry.
- Experience in documentation collation.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in construction, commercial, or engineering.
- Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
- Ability to work closely with clients, stakeholders, and end users.
- Ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on time, within budget, and to quality objectives.
- Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
- Familiarity with Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE, with the ability to negotiate and administer.
- Ability to present at Governance Reviews in a leading capacity.
Experience in this area
- Health & Safety:
- Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.
Industry Experience:
- Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Professional Status:
- Chartered with an engineering, commercial, or construction institution.
Accreditation:
- NEC Project Manager Accreditation.
