Copello are pleased to be partnered with a leading Defence organisation recruiting for a Hardware Design Engineer to join their team based in Essex.
The Hardware Design Engineer will be joining as established team of engineers designing and developing products for the military market.
This opportunity is based in Essex, and will require the successful applicant to be on site 3 days per week with some home working opportunities.
As the Hardware Design Engineer, you will have a real impact on the design and integration of a wide range of products and will be collaborating with multi-faceted teams to complete the systems.
Day to day responsibilities will include eliciting requirements, generating schematics and PCB design along with component selection. Working as a part of a larger team, the Hardware Engineer will collaborate and work closely with systems engineers and act as the SME when developing requirements to ensure compliance. Generating design documentation will be a key part of the role, along with presenting this at regular technical reviews.
To be considered, the Hardware Engineer must have experience of the following;
- Digital electronics and microprocessor systems
- Creating production Hardware from prototypes
- Designing PCBs inline with safety critical standards (Ideally DO254)
- Design for Manufacture
- EMC and Environmental testing
It is an essential requirement for the successful applicant to obtain security clearance (UK SC).
