Location: Rugby, Warwickshire

Contract Type: Permanent/Full time

Salary: £28k-£33k (DOE)

Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday (occasional Saturdays due to Audits) 07:00 am to 3:30 pm

We have an immediate requirement for either a Trainee Technical Assistant or an experienced Technical Assistant to work at our facility in Rugby (salary banding reflects this!).

As a Technical Assistant, we are looking for someone with experience within the food industry, who is looking to delve into the Meat side of the industry. If you are a Trainee and looking to start your career within the food industry, we would be happy to train you!

Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Food technical customer enquiries.
• Supplier Quality Assurance.
• Routine factory-based technical and quality checks.
• Conducting internal audits of documents and manufacturing protocols.
• Laboratory sample collation, submission and result review including follow-up.
• Finished goods, raw materials, and internal specifications.
• Technical and operational process control monitoring.
• Investigating and concluding customer and supplier complaints including associated corrective/preventative actions.
• Generating monthly technical board reports. Training of team members against site QMS including HACCP.
• Supporting a positive food safety and quality culture.
• We are looking for applicants with the following skills, attributes, and experience:
• Science degree or equivalent. (food-related preferred but not essential).
• Previous experience in a food technical environment.
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Good people skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team and as part of a wider team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Food Legislation.
• Ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Flexible approach to work. (Desirable)
