Job description

Want to effectively start your own business?

A unique opportunity to lead and build a brand-new technical AV department as a subsidiary of a well-established event organisation. This is a fantastic role for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career within the technical industry, with the freedom to make this role entirely your own.

On top of this, there is also the possibility to own shares within this new arm of the company, as this will effectively be your business to manage.

THE COMPANY

Whether it's an ice cave, festival activation, exhibition or something in between this team has been there and made it happen.  Working across a range of unusually complex and technologically savvy events and installations this exciting agency works with some of the world's biggest brands. With their own in house creative, onsite workshop and team of production specialists they work directly with international clients and events agencies, taking each project from creative concept through to onsite delivery and build. Working with high profile brands and with new and challenging projects coming through the door every day, no two days are ever the same!

Having invested heavily over recent years in their stock of AV equipment they are now looking to build on their service to enter the AV hire market. In addition to offering this extra service, the in-house technical expertise will allow them to be more ambitious with their existing installation projects!

THE ROLE

This role will involve taking ownership for the setup and running of their AV hire arm of the company from the ground up. With support from the existing team, the role is broad and will involve responsibilities such as:

-          Setting up processes internally

-          Seeking out and establishing new client wins

-          Building up a technical team in line with the growth of the business

-          Working closely with the existing team in relation to AV requirements in build projects

-          Implementing health & safety practices across the team

-          Keeping up to date with new trends in equipment

-          Managing budgeting and investment into new equipment

-          Ensuring all equipment is tested and prepped efficiently

-          Leading the technical delivery of projects

-          Working closely with clients

THE CANDIDATE

We are looking for candidates with a solid technical knowledge gained from a position within the events sector - ideally from within a technical supply company. The ideal candidate will be ambitious and entrepreneurial, looking to further their career with the backing of an existing organisation. Candidates do not need to have previous experience managing a team or technical department but must be eager to take on this challenge and willing to dedicate themselves to the development of the department.

In return, you will be offered the chance to lead a brand-new department into the market, shaping it in your own vision.

Live specialises in all disciplines (and at all levels) across events, experiential and exhibitions.  If this position isn't quite what you're looking for please visit live-recruitment.co.uk to view all of the opportunities we are recruiting.
