This role in 3 words: Engaging. Ownership. Collaborator
Top 3 qualities for this role: Communication. Organisation. Strategy
In the words of the team, you should leave your current role for this one because .
"You'll play a unique role within OVO, working with the wider corporate affairs, brand and marketing teams, as well as business partnering with key areas of the business such as Commercial and People. You'll get to develop cross cutting campaigns, bringing to life important topics through events for corporate and consumer audiences."
Where you'll work:
At OVO, we understand that a one size fits all approach doesn't work for everyone. That's why we created the OVO Way of Flexibility.
All our roles are hub based (Bristol, Glasgow or London), providing a dedicated space for collaboration, connection and teamwork. You'll also have the flexibility to work from home.
Everyone belongs at OVO
At OVO, we are on a mission to solve one of humanity's biggest challenges, the climate crisis. And we know it takes all of us to change the world. That's why we need diverse people from all abilities, gender identities, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, life experiences and backgrounds to join us.
Teamworking for the planet
Everything we do here spins around Plan Zero. So, naturally, the team you'll be joining plays a gigantic role in making that happen. Here's how:
OVO's vision is to deliver clean, affordable energy for everyone, powered by technology. We started out as a retail energy company with a belief that we could do energy better through fairer pricing, simplicity and unrivalled customer service. As we evolved it became clear that OVO could bring even more value to its customers, by supporting them to decarbonise their homes. We're building a zero carbon community - and bringing everyone the green energy, technology and guidance they need to make change happen. And, to lead by example, we're committed to becoming a net zero carbon business by 2035.
This role in a nutshell:
Working at the centre of corporate affairs and marketing, your team will define and deliver OVO's multi-channel campaigning and events strategy. Working cross functionally with Public Affairs, Sustainability, Comms, Brand and Commercial to create compelling Campaigns and Activations that improve OVO's standing as a green leader and customer champion.
You'll build relationships with high profile NGOs, partners and other organisations. Through these relationships, you'll further OVO's campaigning objectives.
You'll be the gatekeeper for how OVO shows up in the real world. You'll deliver a calendar of events and sponsorship opportunities, bringing OVO to life for customers and corporate stakeholders. Your team will work across the organisation to ensure a cohesive approach to events and Activations, both in look and feel and in content.
You'll play a bridging role between different areas of the corporate affairs and marketing team, bringing together relevant stakeholders, to create cross departmental Campaigns and Activations.
Your key outcomes will be:
  • Execute a compelling and impactful campaigning and activation strategy to support OVO's commercial and sustainability objectives.
  • Work with OVO's leadership team and their direct reports to deliver industry leading events that support the broader business objectives.
  • Build a network of NGOs and organisations who understand OVO's core values and positions on key topics such as greenwashing, the energy transition and home decarbonisation.

  • Business partner with public affairs, people engagement, sponsorships, commercial teams and PR to create consistent activations which showcase OVO in the best light.
Partnerships
  • Deepen relationships with existing partners through regular engagements and speaking opportunities (at respective organisations)
  • Expand our network of partners across multiple channels, platforms and activities to advance the OVO's reputation. Design and deliver engagement activities that reflect OVO's values (Do what's right, Find a better way, Build something great)- and fully leverage owned, earned and paid channels.
