They are license holders for a secure network which is transforming Britain’s energy system and helping the fight against climate change.
Their Contract Management Team are responsible for the management of all contracts from contract signature to end of life. The team ensures that the suppliers deliver the value, quality and compliance in line with the contract and performance obligations as set out. The team manage in-life change to their existing contracts.
To lead and manage this team they need a Head of Contract Management to provide guidance and support as well as setting stretching performance objectives and creating development plans to facilitate individual growth.
The Head of Contract Management will be responsible for: -
- Accountable for all the Contracts and Suppliers that sit across up to 2 service families covering over £1 - 2bn of 3rd party spend over the coming decade. Holding all resources that sit within the relevant services families and accountability for the management of their Contracts and Suppliers
- Accountable for ensuring that the contracts and services are performing in line with the obligations set out in the agreements and that they deliver seamless supply of products and services
- The Head of Contract Management builds and owns strong working relationships with C-Suite executives at key suppliers, customers, regulators and Exco (and SLT) to enable the Senior Contract Managers to create, implement & maintain their contract and Commercial Plan, delivering value to stakeholders.
- Responsible for setting challenging targets for the team to deliver year-on-year efficiency and economic improvements
- Introducing efficiencies and innovation in the way they manage contracts that challenge the status quo, ensuring the company consider alternatives when developing contract strategies.
The Head of Contract Management must be able to demonstrate experience as follows: -
- Management and delivery of complex contracts and strategies in a regulated environment
- Leading a large team of people at varying levels of authority
- Understanding of regulated and a non-regulated procurement environment. Ideally with reference to secure and critical national industries
We’re looking for:
Technical
- Extensive Contract Management experience; creating & managing complex contracts.
- Extensive strategic and complex management experience.
- A good working knowledge of all aspects of the ‘commercial and operational lifecycle’
- Ability to think creatively to solve ill-defined and complex Contract Management challenges
- A solution driven, innovator, focusing on total cost and value creation
- Strong attention to detail
- Removing barriers to value creation, through the implementation of negotiation strategies
- Experience of working in a transformation environment where influencing skills are required
Leadership
- Experience in mentoring, coaching and developing a high performing team
- Ability to create functional strategy through a process of consultation with stakeholders
- A leader with presence and gravitas with proven record of taking on leadership responsibility
- Proven experience in setting stretching goals that align with business strategy with a focus on quality
- Experience in effective stakeholder management to drive commercial benefits
