Job Introduction



Main Responsibilities 

The role will be responsible for overseeing the Bank’s Change Portfolio, with a particular focus on executive and external reporting, financial management, resource management, provision of PMO services across the Bank, and oversight and assurance across a portion of the overall Change Portfolio.
 
The successful candidate will be an experienced change professional who understands the bank’s strategy, its Change Portfolio, the change processes and standards, and industry best practice. They will be a critical thinker who sets high standards, has a continuous improvement mindset, and is capable of collaborating effectively across different teams and departments to effect positive improvements.

  • Lead the overall Change Portfolio planning processes, including forecasting future demand, financial forecasting and allocation, and supply (~resource) management.
  • Ensure the Bank’s Change Portfolio is aligned to the Bank’s strategic objectives.
  • Lead on executive and external reporting (e.g. ICC, ExCo, BRCC, Group, regulatory reporting) across the entire Change Portfolio.
  • Lead on financial and resource management across the entire Change Portfolio
  • Oversee and assure the delivery of a portion of the overall Change Portfolio, including:
  • Review and challenge planned and in-flight change initiatives to ensure alignment to strategy, investment case, target architecture, and other initiatives in the Change Portfolio.
  • Assess planned and in-flight change initiatives against change governance processes, standards, and best practice.
  • Identify and drive any resulting remedial action, either in the change initiatives, the bank’s change processes and standards, the bank’s Change Portfolio management, or elsewhere.
  • Collaborate closely with the change governance teams to drive the necessary improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with broader UK technology compliance and assurance functions to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with other change practitioners across the Bank e.g. IT Modernisation & Transformation team, Community of Practice leads etc.
  • Through the above actions, help improve; a) the delivery of value from change initiatives through greater strategic alignment, standardisation, and use of best practice, b) management of risk within the Change Portfolio, c) the existing change processes and standards, ensuring they’re fit-for-purpose and enable the effective (and safe) delivery of Change at pace, and d) the Change Portfolio management capabilities, including effective use of tooling.
  • Act as a culture flag bearer and transformation agent to create a more dynamic, flexible and business value led change team, culture, delivery processes, and ways of working.

  • Deep experience in Change Portfolio management.
  • Deep expertise of Change risk, governance, processes, and ways of working.
  • Deep expertise in change delivery best practices.
  • Expertise in agile ways of working.
  • Indepth knowledge of how change affects skills, capabilities, processes, methods and workflows and the potential impacts to each of these areas through changes to ways of working.
  • Effective stakeholder management; from business sponsors and technology leaders, to front-line colleagues.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing business and technology change within a consumer facing large scale enterprise (preferably a Bank that has experienced change transformation). 
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholder groups in planning and managing the transition from project to business as usual. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication. 
  • Strong attention to detail.
