- THE ROLE -
The Head of Commercial Analysis and Partnerships will be responsible for leading the Commercial Analysis and negotiations for new commercial arrangements as well as managing existing commercial partnerships within the Campus Life Directorate of Ulster University. Reporting to the Director of Campus Life, this role is integral to our focus on sustainable investments and providing vibrant campus-based higher education, key commitments of the University’s Strategy - Sustainable Futures for All: People, Place and Partnership. The role will be responsible for achieving objectives specified in the Campus Life Operating Plan and contributing to our vision of creating thriving campus communities.
The role will require strong expertise and experience in undertaking commercial and financial Analysis and appraisals of proposals including financial modelling, business case development and contract negotiations. The incumbent will also have experience in project management. The role will work collaboratively with colleagues leading projects and activities in the Campus Life team, including Residential Life, Sports Services, Catering and Events. The Head of Commercial Analysis and Partnerships will be expected to build strong working relationships with colleagues in other areas of the university, in particular with the Chief Strategy and Finance Officer Portfolio, Finance, Procurement and Estates Services.
The role will have a high degree of autonomy and will represent the university and Director of Campus Life at a number of external meetings, forums and events. The post-holder is expected to have a passion for delivering high-quality professional services and be innovative in their approach to solving problems. This commercial role will require the individual to work with a substantial degree of independence and responsibility.
Performance will be managed by the achievement of objectives specified in the Campus Life Operating Plan.
- ABOUT YOU -
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification and extensive relevant experience in accounting, finance or business Analysis and management.
- Have experience in the preparation and assessment of complex, high-value and strategic proposals, business cases, business improvement projects and change initiatives, including the coordination and distillation of information from multiple sources.
- Have evidence of relevant commercial experience, analysing data and assessing business opportunities to prepare detailed business plans, financial forecasts, due diligence and investment appraisals.
