About this opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data leader to join the IP&I Data & Analytics Office. As a Head of Data your responsibilities will be designing and driving high quality data initiatives, drawing upon your technical expertise, whilst being open minded and leverage the opportunities the cloud provides. Here's where you'll make the difference:
- Lead the Data Delivery teams in designing, developing, testing and maintaining high-quality Data deliverables.
- Establish Centres of Excellence and enforce best practices, standards, and methodologies for Data Visualisation & Reporting and Data Science ensuring alignment with our business goals and IP&I's Data Strategy.
- Take the ownership and accountability of delivery, risk management and TCO.
- Hire, train, coach, and evaluate the performance of the technical Data team, developing their skills and career growth.
- Being a team player who can build relationships and collaborate productively with other teams across IP&I and the Group.

What you'll need
- Proven experience in managing Data Science, Data Quality Remediation, Visualisation and Reporting teams and activity.
- Hands-on proven experience of delivering strategic Data delivery design, development, testing and operational stability.
- Practical experience of Cloud native solutions and an awareness of new and emerging tools and technologies.
- Best practice coding/scripting experience developed in a commercial/industry setting (Python, SQL).
- Strong leadership, management, and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower the technical Data team.
- Excellent communication, presentation and story-telling skills.
- Insurance, Pensions & Investments product, and technical data knowledge.
- Experience of hiring, recognising, and developing talent.
