Brief Description
Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for leadership and driving improvement? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join us as the Head of Engineering for our Southern Region. As a senior member of our team, in collaboration with our delivery partners, you will lead our engineering and construction teams to deliver exceptional results in delivering a safe and reliable service for our passengers and customers.
About the role (External)
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate understanding of business objectives and ensure necessary procedures are in place for successful project delivery.
- Develop and manage team structure, processes, and tools to ensure project schedule, budget, and quality requirements are met.
- Identify and manage the introduction of new systems on the network, including safety approvals and monitoring.
- Develop safety and quality objectives, including staff development and competence management.
- Manage all project development, engineering, and commissioning activities to meet regional requirements.
- Provide professional functional leadership for engineering within Capital Delivery.
- Lead and functionally manage all asset design engineers.
Essentia Skills and Experience:
- Chartered Engineer with relevant successful experience in Programme Management within the Railway Industry or comparable industries.
- University degree in engineering.
- Membership of an appropriate Professional Institution.
- Relevant experience in railway engineering systems and equipment implementation.
Desirable:
- Experience in large programmes/projects.
- Experience in leading railway engineering design & development works.
