We are proud to be partnering with a Local Authority based in West London, who are looking to appoint a Head of Estates on an interim basis until the end of April 2025.
This will be a full-time position based in West London, with hybrid working (2/3 days home working) and a daily rate of £600 - £700 per day via umbrella.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of managing commercial stock and achieving statutory compliance.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Provide managed office, civic headquarters, and other operational space for the council, supporting some 3500 people including staff, contractors, and tenantsDeliver facilities management (FM) services to approximately 160 buildings through an in-house FM delivery team supported by an approved list of appointed framework contractorsStrategically review and develop options for the council’s future FM services provisionHave overall responsibility of the maintenance & engineering, performance and business support, facilities managers, and cleaning teamsMaximise revenue streams available from our property portfolio with particular emphasis on the maintenance and soft FM service provision i.e., cleaning etcLet and manage contracts and work closely with our strategic partners to ensure we gain maximum benefit from the partnership, constantly challenging and devising new and improved ways to deliver value for moneyExperience required:
Proven track record of experience at senior management level managing estate services across a broad or varied property portfolioStrong track record in the delivery of service improvements and targets across a broad range of operational teamsProven track record of delivering change and managing transformation projectsSkills, knowledge and expertise required:
Knowledge of maintenance and engineering or cleaning teams including the health and safety and compliance requirements required within the teamEvidence of delivering value to the business through service strategiesAbility to manage and deliver work on time and within budgetAn appropriate professional qualification / degree or relevant experienceRewards and Benefits:
