Head of Finance Business Partnering
Morgan Hunt is working with a London based University who are recruiting for a Head of Finance Business partnering. This position is for someone who is fully qualified and who has strong stakeholder management skills, strong attention to detail, senior management team experience and strong Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience.
This role will be a core member of the finance leadership team. This high profile and vital role provides ranging support on strategic and financial matters across the University. This role will involve liaising with finance experts to support complex projects.
This 6 month contract hybrid role based in London and is paying up to £800 PAYE per day.
Key Responsibilities of theHead of Finance Business Partnering:
- Developing an understanding of the business, its stakeholders, strategic direction and operating mode
- Inspire and lead a high performing team to oversee the financial performance management across core finance disciplines.
- Ensure that budget holders have a good understanding of their finances and financial driver
- Ensure that the financial plans are developed through sufficient robustness to ensure it meets the necessary business case and finance requirement
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and presentations to drive and support business decisions, such as efficiency and cost reduction options.
- Ensure consideration of financial sustainability is at the centre of insight, analysis and decision making.
- Ensure that FP&A and Management Accounting team have a good understanding of the story behind the number
- Provide guidance at appropriate level budget holder meetings and boards.
- Provide advice on compliance with policy, standards, accountabilities and controls.
Previous Skills and Experience of the Head of Finance Business Partnering:
- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB) with evidence of up-to-date technical knowledge
- Experience of working in a Business Partnering role within a complex organisation
- Demonstrable negotiation, relationship building, and conflict resolution skills
- Experience of delivering financial analysis and producing reports to non-finance staff, demonstrating measurable outcomes
- Track record of developing and empowering individuals to realise their potential, leading teams through change
- Experience of influencing senior stakeholders and challenging to uphold financial management standards
- Experience of working within Higher Education
- Strong technical budgeting and accounting skills to ensure financial reporting requirements and International Accounting Standards are applied correct
