About This Position Due to retirement of the current post holder, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to lead our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Vice Principal of Finance & Corporate Resources, the Head of Financial Services will be responsible for building, developing and effectively managing the Finance team. You will demonstrate previous success in a financial managerial role in an FE organisation of significant scale and complexity. Within the role, you will maintain auditable monthly and annual statutory accounts, ensuring all control systems are adhered to. You will be preparing monthly financial information and ensuring that all financial statements are prepared to comply with relevant legislation, you will manage an effective budget setting and provide financial advice and training as required. The successful candidate will have a good general standard of education and will ideally be a CCAB Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience. With experience of leading and managing a team within an FE organisation, you will have a strong technical knowledge of all aspects of Financial accounting. With excellent communication skills and an ability to develop policies and procedures, you will be highly organised and able to motivate a diverse team. Further Education is continually developing, you must therefore be flexible to take on changing responsibilities which include your own personal and professional updating of major issues concerning FE.
