Exciting Career Opportunity: Head of Groups& Events
Are you a dynamic and results-driven professional with a passion for leading teams and driving revenue growth? Our Client is looking for an experienced Head of Groups& Events to join their team and oversee both Groups and Conference & Events for our hotel. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of strategies and achieving revenue targets.
Role Overview:
As the Head of Groups& Events, you will be responsible for leading the Groups & Events team, managing key revenue streams, and ensuring the successful delivery of large annual events. You will work closely with the Revenue Manager and Sales & Marketing teams to drive total revenue and ensure the implementation of agreed strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the hotel Groups & Events team, ensuring high performance and identifying opportunities and risks in revenue streams.
- Drive business in a total revenue approach, implementing strategy across all departments.
- Own and rebook large annual events, ensuring continuity and growth.
- Present in revenue and stakeholder meetings, collaborating on budget and strategy preparation.
- Maintain systems, ensuring SOPs are in place and regularly reviewed.
- Develop a talent pipeline and personal development plans for team members.
- Support daily departmental tasks and ensure regular reporting and follow-up on SMART actions.
- Manage team performance, guest experience, workforce planning, and departmental profit delivery.
- Attract, develop, and retain talent, solving complex problems and creating an environment for best practice sharing.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ management experience within Hotel Conference Sales or 5 years’ experience in a hotel commercial office in a management role.
- Knowledge of Reservations and C&E tools and systems (e.g. Opera, Delphi).
- Experience in forecasting, strategic planning, and implementing pricing and selling strategies.
- Proven track record of delivering results and effectively leading teams.
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong planning and analytical skills.
Metrics for Success:
- Achieving RevPAR, TRevPAR, GOP targets, and other commercial metrics.
- Meeting budgeted revenue targets and achieving high conversion rates.
- Positive feedback from mystery calls and event evaluations.
- High colleague engagement and retention rates.
