Hays are working with a public sector organisation based in the Bristol area to support with the recruitment for a new, permanent Head of IT role. The role will be hybrid working based out of the HQ in North Somerset and will be paying up to £76,000 including market supplement.
Your new role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IT leader who enjoys building teams, creating roadmaps and setting direction for the modernisation of IT services across an organisation. This is a newly created role to spearhead the digital transformation and digital strategy to meet the staff's needs and requirements and modernise IT services across the organisation. You will manage the 3rd party relationship with the current IT managed service provider and ensure smooth IT service delivery. You will act as a subject-matter expert for the IT services for the organisation and be responsible and accountable for the maintenance and delivery of systems and technology, ensuring they are reliable and efficient. You will also be responsible for developing a plan and strategy regarding IT services improvement and budget management.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must be an experienced IT leader with Head of / director level experience ideally in a public sector organisation (although not essential). You will be experienced at spearheading IT modernisation and driving digital transformation. You will also need to have technical knowledge of IT infrastructure. You will need experience in design, transition, and delivery of new technologies / services. You will need to have good knowledge of best practice methodologies such as ITIL, ITSM and Cyber Essentials. You will need good 3rd party supplier management skills. You will need to have good strategic planning, budget management and stakeholder engagement skills.
