We are seeking an exceptional individual to join us as the Head of ICT Service Management, leading the vision and strategy that will define our ICT services for years to come.

Derbyshire County Council is embarking on an exciting journey towards the future of ICT services, and we are looking for an exceptional individual to lead the charge. In this pivotal role, you will play a pivotal role in setting the vision and strategy for our evolving service in a dynamic and changing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Visionary: Set the vision and strategy for the future of our ICT services, delivering a clear package of services with a focus on simplification, cost reduction, and value-added services.
- Operational Ownership: Take ownership of key operational areas including Service Desk, EU Compute, Vendor and Contract Management, and Asset Management. Ensure consistent, effective, joined-up, and value-led processes that promote collaboration and cooperation in service delivery and improvement.
- Service Management Framework: Define and own the Service Management framework, SLAs, KPIs, and governance for effective service delivery. Monitor overall service performance, ensuring customer commitments and requirements are achieved with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Expert Guidance: Act as a lead expert in all aspects of ICT Operational areas and systems, providing specialist advice and guidance to the Council and leading professionals to ensure an effective service and innovative solutions.
- Procurement and Contract Activities: Lead Procurement and Contract activities for the ICT service to improve performance and visibility. Work with the ICT Governance Group to enable resourcing and prioritisation of development activities aligned with Council objectives.
- ICT Strategy Development: Develop, deliver, and evaluate the Council’s ICT strategy and stakeholder plan related to assets, licensing, and security, promoting a standardised approach to ICT service delivery.
- Asset Management: Maintain and develop accurate asset management systems to support the provision of appropriate equipment for staff, enabling increased mobile working and supporting the delivery of the ICT Strategy.
- Leadership and Management: Develop a high-performance culture through collaborative working across ICT service areas and council departments. Provide leadership and management to enable continuous improvement, effective decision-making, target setting, performance management, and conflict resolution.

Qualifications Required:
- Relevant degree or equivalent recognised ICT qualification in area of specialism or relevant experience.
