The school is seeking to employ a fully qualified and suitably experienced Head of Mathematics to lead an excellent and motivated team. The start date is August 2024. The successful candidate will be an experienced subject leader with considerable experience in successfully leading and managing their departments to ensure high academic standards, achievement, and behaviour in line with the school’s expectations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- A recognised degree in Mathematics or equivalent from an accredited university, and a PGCE, QTS or other internationally recognised teaching qualification for Secondary education.
- A minimum of six years of experience teaching Mathematics across Key Stages 3 – 5, with evidence of successful examination results at I/GCSE and A-Level in recent years.
- Experience in A-Level Further Mathematics
- Experience in leading or working knowledge of the UK Primary curriculum and/or KS2/3 transition in Mathematics would be an advantage.
- A minimum of three years of Head of Mathematics Department experience within a successful department in a school using the English National Curriculum Curriculum
- Secure knowledge and understanding of excellent practice in teaching, learning and the effective use of assessment to improve learning. Be able to use data effectively to monitor students’ academic progress in relation to expectations and targets.
- Model excellent practice in the classroom; preferably externally verified. Be proficient in using Microsoft Office/Office 365 products.
- Experience with SIMS would be an advantage.
- Have excellent knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection good practice with recent, relevant training.
- Be an excellent team player committed to the Catholic ethos, values and aims of the school, and be committed to the holistic education of children.
Salary and Benefits:
