Job description
The Head of Operations is required to ensure all parts of the production process come together at the correct time to achieve delivery and installation goals. Providing feedback between departments is essential.
Communicate issues, highs, lows, H&S, plans, monitor and review employee contributions with weekly reporting to the Managing Director.
Direct, plan and monitor individual and departmental work schedules.
Oversee, monitor, interrogate, and ensure accuracy of the overview spreadsheet. Identify alternative strategies in order to achieve goals and / or changes in sales requirements / product mix.
Ensure we are on schedule to meet deadlines.
Ensure we meet required Health & Safety requirements and operate within a safe working environment.
New and improved procedures to be implemented each year to ensure the smooth running and continual improvement of the business.
Suggestions for factory organisation, re–organisation & allocation of resources.
Carrying out annual reviews of production & warehouse staff.
Complete staff inductions.
Provide costing information for new product development / sales requests.
Identify any equipment/training requirements.
Ensure tools and equipment are looked after and maintained.
Oversee building & equipment maintenance.
Recruitment of new production staff as required.
Factory holiday authorisations.
Ensure punctuality of staff.
At installation and takeout times, be available to assist with and oversee the on the ground implementation of the schedule. Assist in the compilation of the install / takeout schedule.
Additional hours expected to be worked to achieve responsibilities.
Ensure the factory is kept clean and tidy.
