Head Of Operations

This is an exciting Head of Operations with responsibility for an established FMCG manufacturing unit. You will be an integral part of the leadership team, working end to end to ensure the overall operation runs seamlessly.

This business is an established FMCG manufacturer that is looking for someone to lead an established business unit. In this Head of Operations position, you will have overall accountability for the business unit, working end-to-end across the supply chain to drive operational excellence.

Description

You will be leading a business unit and a cross functional team in an exciting and varied role which will drive operational excellence. As the Head of Operations, you will be implementing best practice production processes & interacting with leadership across other departments to ensure the business continue to deliver quality products, on time in full.

Key responsibilities:

• Effectively manage all operational aspects of the business unit, within a safe and healthy environment
• Develop and manage strategy to meet or exceed annual plans.
• Develop and execute budgetary and capital plans, review existing equipment capacity and manpower in order to meet long range planning goals which are aligned to group vision.
• Responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and reliability of all assets within the department.
• Responsible for ensuring that all health, safety and environment, quality, cost and reliability standards are met and driving conformance to regulatory standards and in line with accreditation.
• Deliver the production plan on time and at the budgeted efficiency.
• Work with the wider management team to drive best practice in line with WCM principles.
• Develop and improve production KPIs aligned with business objectives.
• Drive cost savings through efficient use of resources and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure product quality and customer expectations are continuously met.
• Support in embedding the site Health and Safety culture.
• Develop managers and teams through coaching and mentoring, training and leadership by example.

Profile

This role is suited to a Head of Operations or Site Operations/Factory Manager with experience managing a reasonably sized team in a FMCG manufacturing operation & the following:

• Knowledge of planning & proven capability of delivering against operations KPIs
• Experience & knowledge of lean/continuous improvement manufacturing tools and techniques
• Proven track record of building and developing high performing teams
• Demonstrated ability to coach at all levels of the organisation
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, internally & externally
