Job description

OVERVIEW

The Maples Group is a standard bearer in financial and legal services, trusted by many of the world’s largest hedge fund managers, private equity firms and international corporations.

Our distinction flows from our carefully curated team: 2,500+ professionals characterised by tenacity, ethics and exacting excellence. We hire smart and sharpen smarter, arming talent with best-in-class resources and skills. Operating in key financial centres across the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, our international presence offers a unique springboard for career development and cross-cultural immersion. Our side-by-side financial and legal services are similarly ripe for interdisciplinary learning and growth.

The Maples Group looks to add a Cayman (strongly preferred) or UK/Ireland (with frequent travel to Cayman) based Head of Organisational Change Management to our team and invites eager and qualified candidates to apply. We are committed to diversity, inclusion and equality of opportunity as we attract, retain and develop world-class talent.

Who We Seek
Our merit-based culture suits professionals in pursuit of boundless careers and lives. Beyond their acumen, team members are collaborative and conscientious, bringing a healthy sense of drive and purpose to each interaction and to all aspects of their work.

The Maples Group is committed to investing in the future of the business and has developed a global operational improvement roadmap to promote operational excellence and support the Group's strategic vision and priorities across all business areas. This roadmap concentrates on three important pillars namely 1) transforming the client experience through the Client Engagement Lifecycle programme 2) creating the workplace of the future and 3) delivering operational excellence through the improvement of our business operations. This role will initially have a greater focus on the business change aspects of the Client Engagement Lifecycle programme – a programme that is currently in flight and seeks to improve the efficiency of our processes and procedures throughout the client engagement lifecycle, from the initial client acceptance process, through time recording, working capital management, billing and cash collection. These improved business processes will be supported by new underlying technology solutions.

However, more broadly, the role will focus on the business change aspects of other programmes within the operational improvement roadmap too.

We are looking for an experienced Organisational Change Management professional to lead our OCM team and drive our enterprise change processes, ensuring an enthusiastic and engaged adoption by the business of our global operational improvement programmes. This role will build an effective bridge between each of our programme's objectives and our business operations.

We are committed to diversity, inclusion and equality of opportunity as we attract, retain and develop world-class talent. Our merit-based culture suits professionals in pursuit of dynamic careers and lives. Beyond their business and technical acumen, team members are collaborative and conscientious, bringing a healthy sense of drive and purpose to all aspects of their work.

About the Role
Working in partnership with the programme teams, the Executive sponsorship across the Maples Group, together with our external Strategic Implementation Partners, the role will focus on the people side of change, including those resulting from changes to our business processes, systems and technology, roles and organisational structures. The primary responsibility will be the creation and implementation of Change Management strategies and plans which maximise employee adoption - and minimise resistance to change across all our global operational improvement programmes.

The role will focus on fostering faster adoption and higher ultimate utilisation of the changes that affect the ways in which Maples' employees do their jobs. The successful execution of the Change Management strategies and plans will increase benefit realisation, value creation and provide tangible returns on the investment made.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a structured approach to lead Change Management and culture change activities relating to a number of global operational improvement programmes being delivered across the Maples Group, with a particular focus initially on the Client Engagement Lifecycle programme
  • Assessing the impact of change and the subsequent development and execution of a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by the various global operational improvement programmes - this includes the design of plans to drive successful project outcomes, building on experience gained throughout the programmes
  • Completion of Change Management assessments and risk mitigation tactics, communicating those insights clearly and succinctly
  • Designing and delivery of a communications strategy and plan to support the change aspects of each programme
  • Taking the lead on the development and delivery of the business change training required across the business
  • Conducting stakeholder analyses, formulating stakeholder management actions and driving the stakeholder management plan throughout the duration of each initiative
  • Working with the PMO and Project Managers to integrate Change Management activities into project plans throughout the full lifecycle of the global operational projects, ensuring Change Management activities are effectively delivered upon
  • Supporting, engaging and coaching senior leaders in helping them fulfill the roles of change sponsors and change leaders
  • Educating executives and the organisation about OCM and culture change best practices
  • Leading and providing direction to and management of the existing OCM team
  • Providing direct support and coaching to managers and supervisors as they support their direct reports through change
  • Soliciting feedback from stakeholders to determine the success of Change Management activities, ensuring that behavioral changes align with strategic objectives
  • Effectively aligning, utilising and developing a team of Change Management specialists to assist in the responsibilities above and to complete detailed Change Management activities including training coordination, training development, training facilitation, communications and stakeholder engagement planning, communications content development and stakeholder engagement.
