Head of Payments - Up to £200k + Bonus + Benefits
Under the supervision of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Core Banking and Payments, lead a dedicated team focused on product and platform development. The objective is to ensure the successful creation, operation, and management of an identity, authentication, and authorisation platform, along with its strategic direction. Collaboration with digital product leadership is essential to craft a roadmap supporting the strategy of enabling a unified, channel-agnostic identity capability.
The Responsibilities:
- Guarantee full alignment and support from the Identity platform team towards the business function's plans, particularly in driving the ambitions of becoming the UK's leading digital bank.
- Oversee the financial and capacity portfolio, emphasising robust cost control, investment spending, and consistent methodology.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, flexibility, and effectiveness, aiming to ensure satisfaction among colleagues, customers, and the community regarding financial services.
- Ensure that all policies, procedures, and practices adhere to legal, regulatory requirements, and codes of conduct.
- Integrate Cyber Security plans throughout every aspect of operations within the organisation, aligning with established standards and policies.
Accountabilities:
- Assume overall responsibility for the stability, performance, uptime, and availability of both existing and forthcoming Identity systems and platforms.
- Hold overall responsibility for executing the strategic roadmap concerning Identity, Authentication, and Authorisation, ensuring adherence to expected milestones, outcomes, and budget management.
- With support from the Project Management Office (PMO) team, enforce strict financial controls, manage resource demand and supply, and drive enhanced productivity, utilisation, and value.
- With assistance from the Technology Architecture team, spearhead the formulation of the domain technology strategy, fostering innovation and facilitating the journey toward establishing the organisation as the "UK's leading digital bank," while adhering to Technology Design Standards.
Experience
- +10 years in senior Product Development Technology roles
- Very strong track record in leading change delivery with measurable results
- Very strong business partnering track record
- Evidence of leading major transformations in the FS sector
- Financially astute with very strong commercial insight
- A proven business leader who can transform and inspire teams
- Comfortable working within a matrix structure with joint accountabilities
- Excellent business communicator with a skill on making the complex simple and communicating a story
Knowledge
- A broad understanding of technology principles and strategies
- A broad understanding of consumer identity technology
- A broad understanding of UK payments and banking regulatory requirements as they pertain to customer identity, authentication, and authorisation.
- A detailed understand of change methods backed by experience on how to deploy those methods
- A broad understanding of Digital platforms and Data strategy concepts
- A broad understanding of software development techniques and Cloud computing/Open Banking strategies
- Strong banking commercial skills in driving new revenues and optimising cost
- A strong understanding of the specific Franchise/Enterprise business dynamics and priorities
