It is an exciting time to be leading procurement in local authorities & Wokingham Borough Council is now looking for a Head of Procurement, Contracts & Commercialisation.
This post will be pivotal in a number of key areas for the Council, including driving a change of culture and improvement across service areas and importantly steering the organisation through its implementation of the Procurement Act.
We are looking for someone who is professionally qualified, but more importantly can work alongside our key stakeholders to drive the changes required - using your flair for procurement & Commercialisation that delivers value for money.
Critical elements of the role:
Leadership of 3 teams: Procurement, Commercialisation & Digital Solutions Wide range of categories of spend: leading value engineering approaches Lead member of Senior Management within the organisation, playing a key role in the Strategic Procurement Board Development & implementation of Commercial Strategy for the Council. Identification and delivery of a pipeline of Procurement and commercial activity across the organisation What we are looking for:
Excellent leadership & stakeholder skills with ability to work collaboratively and influence Procurement & Commercial expertise Experience of implementing new approaches to procurement & commercial in a complex organisation Understanding of the Procurement Act & ability to lead the implementation across the Council whilst maximising commercial benefits We provide a wide range of excellent employment benefits including:
