Company Description

They are seeking a QA Lead to join their in-house QA team and report to our Chief Product Officer, collaborating with both the Development and Professional Services teams. The primary goal of this role is to lead the QA team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions to their customers.

This involves identifying and utilising efficient testing tools, both manual and automated, and when necessary, implementing and overseeing QA processes for the team. The role requires assessing software quality to ensure the proper functionality and efficiency of our enterprise-level warehouse management, order processing, and supply chain management systems through comprehensive testing.

The ideal candidate for this position must possess a meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Enthusiasm for our products is crucial, ensuring that all released software meets the highest quality standards.

Their offices are located around the Midlands and Northwest, with the flexibility for candidates to work in a hybrid role, predominantly from home, and travel to the office when necessary. Full training on our software will be provided.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for the Head of Quality Assurance, located in Birmingham or Manchestre with some remote work flexibility. The Head of Quality Assurance will be responsible for overseeing the quality control and Quality Assurance processes, conducting quality audits, implementing quality management systems and analysing data to improve quality outcomes.

· Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies across all our product lines

· Take charge of testing activities throughout the QA team

· Formulate detailed test cases and scripts to validate user requirements and specifications

· Conduct post-deployment checks to guarantee ongoing stability and functionality

· Manage post-implementation activities, including issue resolution, feedback collection, and system optimisation.

· Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with end-users, gathering feedback and ensuring the system meets business needs

· Accurately document defects for replication and impact assessment

· Efficiently handle defect resolution using issue tracking systems

· Maintain transparent communication with the development team and stakeholders regarding identified issues

· Utilise automated testing tools to streamline the testing process

· Confirm system compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

· Assess the system's performance under various conditions to guarantee stability

· Evaluate risks to software quality and actively participate in risk assessment activities

· Provide regular updates on testing progress and the quality status of our products

· Ensure the system's stability and readiness for the go-live phase

· Verify system functionality to ensure alignment with specified requirements

· Perform regression testing to confirm that existing functionalities remain unaffected by new changes

· Profound comprehension of QA methodologies, tools, and processes

· Proven track record in crafting clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and cases

· Familiarity with the utilization of automated testing tools

· Possession of strong communication skills coupled with a problem-solving attitude

Qualifications

• Experience in implementing and managing the Quality Management System
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to quality in the IT industry
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with different teams
• Strong communication skill and ability to articulate complex concepts
• BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience in the IT industry
• Quality Assurance certification such as ISO 9001, or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is an advantage
