Horton Housing manages more than 30 different housing, training and support services across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and North Yorkshire.
We work with people experiencing a wide range of circumstances, including homelessness, drug and/or alcohol challenges, mental health challenges and domestic abuse. We work with young people, older people, refugees, gypsies and travellers and people with a history of offending.
We have a wide range of accommodation schemes including supported accommodation with on-site support and supported housing in the community. We also provide specialist accommodation, including a home from hospital scheme, gypsy and traveller sites in North Yorkshire and a Group Living Service for young people.
We are currently recruiting for a Head of Services to lead four of our services in Bradford.
The role
As Head of Services, you will lead four of our schemes in Bradford. The schemes work with people who have experienced homeless and other challenges such as; mental ill health, domestic abuse, involvement in the justice system. The schemes comprise of supported accommodation and floating support and include women only and men only schemes and schemes for individuals and families who are owed a statutory housing duty.
This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people going through difficult times. You will help to develop the schemes in Bradford while ensuring they operate to the highest quality and deliver the best outcomes for the people we work with.

What we are looking for
We are looking for a motivated leader with a passion for improving the lives of people going through difficult times:
- Minimum of two years in management or senior positions
- Experience of working in the social housing sector, preferably involved in the provision of supported housing
- Experience of working with people who are experiencing a wide range of circumstances, including homelessness, drug and/or alcohol issues and mental ill-health
- Knowledge of strength-based and trauma informed approaches
- Experience of line managing teams and the ability to provide leadership at a strategic level
- Strong influencing and communication skills
- Have excellent written, verbal communication skills
- The ability to form and maintain excellent working relationships with a wider range of stakeholders
- Good IT skills
- Level 4 or equivalent in Leadership & Management or be willing to work towards achieving this
- Ability to analyse, evaluate and present complex data
- Knowledge of the existing and emerging social, political and economic environment the organisation operates in
What Horton offers in return?
In return, this role is offering a salary of £43,788 pa based on 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. The role also offers excellent benefits including 6 weeks annual leave (plus bank holidays). We also offer flexible working arrangements with the opportunity to work from home and any of our Bradford locations. The hours of this role may be worked flexibly by agreement, with the expectation to attend various face to face meetings on a weekly basis.
