A privately owned, International Food Business of Fresh and Frozen products, looking for a Head of Technical for their site in Cheshire.  Competently and pro-actively managing the Technical Department to maintain and improve the food safety and Quality Management Systems. 

Reporting to the Company Director, responsibilities for the role will include:

• Managing the Technical Team effectively ensuring all team members achieve continuous development
• Preparing and conducting external audits on both suppliers and 3rd party providers, ensuring they are fully approved
• Frequent visits to key customer, third party and supplier’s premises, UK and International 
• HACCP Team Leader ensuring HACCP and TACCP principles are implemented
• Taking responsibility for and leading quarterly Technical Review Meetings 
• Maintaining and developing technical Quality Systems ensuring they’re implemented, robust and in line with customer and BRCGS standards 

Essential / Desirable skills include:

• Experienced Technical Manager or Head of Technical with Chilled / Frozen Food Industry experience 
• Preparing and leading customer and third-party audits, resolving issues with customers and suppliers
• Strong decision maker 
• HACCP Level 4 or equivalent
• Working knowledge of BRCGS Global Food Safety Standards and Food Safety legislation
• Experience of leading, implementing and continuously reviewing a Food Safety Management System

The working hours for the role are Monday - Friday, ideally 7am – 3pm but some flexibility is available. The salary is competitive, plus an excellent benefits package.
