The Health and Safety Advisoer acts in a "business partner" capacity to provide support, competent and professional safety advice to the Site Operational Team in order to develop and continually improve all aspects of our safety culture, performance and management in accordance with the safety management system and relevant legislative requirements.

Health and Safety Advisor supports BUTEC, Rosneath, Loch Goil, Rosyth, and on occasion UK Safety Function, working flexibly to deliver against the Key Accountabilities described below.

The role:

The Health and Safety Advisor role will drive a step change in the safety culture across the business contributing to improved safety performance.

Day-to-day, you will be:

• Leading by example, champion best practice and encourage others to demonstrate appropriate leadership behaviours to promote a positive culture in line with our business standards and expectations for safety and environment.
• Working in partnership to provide competent and professional health, safety and occasional environmental advice to operational and delivery teams
• Leading a practical implementation and delivery of HSE legislation, policy, strategy and objectives; applying high professional standards through building strong professional internal networks.
• Leading on effective engagement with internal and external Health and Safety contacts/stakeholders around the organisation through site visits, remote collaboration, and participation at relevant site meetings.
• Continually promoting a positive and innovative safety culture across site
• Delivering the safety improvements and changes through a process of training, mentoring, coaching and facilitating.

Essential experience of theHealth and Safety Advisor:

• The Health and Safety Adviser must have previous experience in a similar role.
• Experience within the Maritime industry is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications for the Health and Safety Advisor:

• The Health and Safety Adviser should have a NEBOSH certificate or an equivalent qualification.

Please note that all applicants must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
