Position Overview: As the Health & Safety, Environmental Practitioner), you will be responsible for driving the development of people and processes to ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements across our UK manufacturing operations. You will lead and be accountable for all aspects of the HSE function, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and enhance processes and procedures. Your expertise and support will enable our business to meet and exceed HSE standards, certifications, and legislative requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and own HSE systems, ensuring robust governance of non-conformance and timely closeout of actions.
• Ensure compliance with required standards, staying abreast of the latest regulations and standards.
• Manage environmental significant aspects register and oversee health and safety initiatives.
• Lead certification audits and liaise with external assessment bodies and customer HSE representatives.
• Drive internal and supplier audit processes and manage EHS risk assessment.
• Understand and ensure compliance with customer-specific HSE requirements.
• Prepare for and facilitate management reviews, and develop, maintain, and approve HSE policies, manuals, and procedures.
• Coordinate HSE training for employees and analyze and report HSE data and metrics.
• Develop and implement HSE improvement plans and manage HSE-related issues with suppliers and customers.
• Undertake other project and leadership activities as required.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Strong practical skills in ISO9001 environment, continuous improvement, and Lean principles.
• Degree (or equivalent) in Health & Safety or Environmental Management.
• Membership of IOSH and IEMA.
• Expert knowledge of HSE management and current legislation.
• Flexible, adaptable, commercially aware, and innovative.
