Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has an exciting opportunity available for a Health and Safety Lead Advisor to join our team based Countywide. You will join us on a full–time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP40,523 – GBP46,008 per annum plus on–call allowance.

Being a Health and Safety Lead Advisor
As a Health and Safety Lead Advisor, you will work with a variety of people across Kent Fire and Rescue Service, building trusted relationships with stakeholders and leverage data to promote excellent H&S practice.
You ll work as part of a team of 4 H&S professionals supporting a variety of stations and departments; providing H&S expertise to directors, managers and colleagues alike and will lead the Advisors on their day–to–day work.
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend working, and additional 1 week in 4 On–call)
What you'll do
Supporting the Authority in meeting its Health and Safety obligations Building and maintaining trusted relationships with stakeholders to influence and promote good H&S practice Supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of our teams Providing advice, support and guidance to managers and colleagues to ensure their understanding of key H&S policies and procedures (e.g. the H&S management system, the general RA requirements but in particular manual handling, COSHH, and noise assessment and Accident investigations) Using all available leading and lagging data effectively to actively monitor trends, identify issues and assess and report risk Proposing and implementing actions necessary to mitigate or address risk Deputising for the Health and Safety Manager as required Managing the Advisors in their day–to–day work What you'll bring:
Nebosh Diploma or equivalent UK Level 6 qualification Certified member of IOSH or equivalent Knowledge of and experience of application of H&S concepts, practices and processes Sound knowledge and understanding of H&S legislation Good communication skills which show an understanding of how to engage with key stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes, including influencing/coaching skills and an ability to develop managers approach to safety An interest in Occupational Hygiene Benefits
