Responsibilities:
- Coach and support Senior Leaders, Managers and Officers providing advice and guidance on Health and Safety issues arising from work activities across the organisation or in the office environment.
- Support various internal forums and specialist working groups to provide Health and Safety advice, guidance and support.
- Review existing inhouse training products relating to Health and Safety management.
- Working with the Director of Property Services, internal colleagues and our external Health & Safety consultants, project manage the delivery of the new Health and Safety management system. This will include auditing progress, quality assuring consultant outputs and providing reports to project board, Health & Safety committee and the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Review, update and provide assurance on the current internal Health and Safety reporting regime, giving consideration the contractual arrangements that the organisation maintains with a number of external ‘managing agents’ (surveying practices) that support the organisation in maintaining Health & Safety compliance.
- Complete and assist line managers with incident investigations liaising with external enforcement bodies where relevant.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to foster collaborative working.
- Managing work and deliverables in a structured and planned fashion adopting traditional project management tools and techniques.
- Support the Chief Executive and Executive Team in reviewing and updating the organisation’s risk registers.
- Other matters as appropriate and necessary.
Essential Skills:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
- Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (or similar) would be valued.
