Your Role:
In this vital position, you will join a small, dynamic team of health & safety professionals, embodying the company's ethos of sensible safety and striving for excellence in every project undertaken. Reporting directly to the Group Health & Safety Director and regional operations directors, you will have a significant degree of autonomy, spearheading Health And Safety initiatives, ensuring compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and well-being throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with various internal teams to reinforce health, safety, and wellbeing protocols.
- Lead support in the pre-qualification, bidding, and planning processes.
- Conduct thorough investigations into accidents and incidents, alongside developing and delivering in-house training.
- Perform safety inspections and audits in alignment with ISO 45001, 9001, and 14001 standards.
- Engage effectively with clients, subcontractors, and staff at all levels to promote a culture of safety and well-being.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards it, with a minimum qualification of NEBOSH/NVQ 4 or higher.
- A full driving licence, as the role involves national travel.
- Solid experience in construction, demolition, civil engineering, with a practical and solutions-based approach.
Desirable:
- Advanced qualifications such as NEBOSH/FPA Fire Risk Assessor, SMSTS, and familiarity with digital Health And Safety solutions.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, the Considerate Constructors Scheme, and various construction methodologies.
