Our Client are looking for a New Health and Safety Manager for their diverse portfolio of services. They run services including recycling and waste, vehicle workshops, swimming pools, gyms, and property service. Theyare committed to keeping staff and customers healthy and safe. They are looking for a Health and Safety professional to support there service managers, guide and train staff, and ensure the company is up to date with new legislation and thinking, as well as proactively monitor reports and trends. Based in Peterborough, this is a full time, permanent role. In addition to a competitive salary of up to 42,000.00 per annum, They also offer an attractive benefits package including company sick pay, pension scheme, holidays, discounted gym membership and life assurance scheme.
What does the role involve?
To be responsible for the provision of professional Health and Safety support, and the implementation of Company Policy and ProcedureWork collaboratively with the operational business, to drive a culture of review and improvement in Health and Safety standards, providing advice and guidanceLine Manage the Quality and Compliance LeadTo ensure that statutory Health and Safety requirements are implemented and upheld throughout the business e.g., COSHH, RIDDOR, DSE, Risk Assessments etcKeeping abreast of proposed and actual changes Health and Safety legislation, and a thorough and detailed working knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation and advice. Alerting the company to such changes that affect them, ensuring that the company is aware of proposed changes in advance, to proactively prepare for any changes.Support the tendering and bidding process and provide Health and Safety information when requiredLead the business through the occurrence of major accidents or incidents, conducting investigations and providing recommendations arising from themContributing to the drafting and implementation of effective health, safety, and environmental standards and associated documentation including forms and checklists.Supporting the implementation and ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001 or similar Quality Management Systems.What are we looking for?
NEBOSH General CertificateNEBOSH Diploma in Occupation Health and Safety (or working towards)HND/Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline recognised by IOSH, NEBOSHChartered Member of IOSH or IIRSMExperience and understanding of creating and implementing Health and Safety processes and proceduresUnderstanding of legislative requirements and expectations of Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, and other Enforcing AuthoritiesExperience of implementing and maintaining high standards of safety, good health schemes and systemsAs part of the induction process all applicants will undergo a drug and alcohol test.
