If the answer is yes then this could be a great opportunity for you. Reed are delighted to be partnering with a well established manufacturer seeking their next Health & Safety Manager. Although this is a Standalone Role you will be reporting to Director level and working closely with key stakeholders such as the Quality Manager and Environmental Officer.
About the Role
- Modernise and develop the internal H&S Management System
- Prepare for and take the lead on external audits and/or compliance visits from regulatory bodies
- Address non-compliance matters in line with agreed timeframes
- Liaise with Insurance / Legal representatives / HR and other internal departments
- Keep up to date with emerging/new legislation an implement updated processes as required
- Review, develop and implement relevant H&S policies and procedures to ensure risk is managed across the remit.
- Co-ordinate a programme of risk assessment & internal audit ensuring follow up actions are taken within a reasonable timeframe.
- Work with Operations to ensure a programme of statutory inspections i.e. LOLER, PUWER, FLT, PAT.
- Support the Project Manager to ensure effective Contractor Management arrangements e.g. RAMS, SSOW, Permit to Work etc.
- Co-ordinate regular internal site inspections, documenting and reporting on good practice, opportunities for improvement, relevant data sampling and readings
About You
- Have 3 – 5 years’ Health & Safety experience in a site lead role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Demonstrable experience of modernising management systems, enacting real cultural change and engagement at all levels
- Be NEBOSH/IOSH Qualified to at least certificate level, ideally diploma level
- Skilled at leading internal and external audits and influencing at all levels
