You will provide suitable and sufficient advice giving them the opportunity to make an informed choice about safety management decisions and practices to effectively manage our working environment through proactive Health and Safety management.
- Act as one of HomeServe’s competent persons’ and ensure all areas of business comply with Health and Safety legislation.
- Support the Senior Safety Officer to design, implement, maintain and review all aspects of the Health and Safety management system and the Safety and Health Improvement Plan (SHIP), in line with the latest Health and Safety guidance.
- Manage all areas of the relevant region’s Health and Safety with due skill, care and diligence including effective controls, risk management and mitigation
- Analyse incident trends and areas of risk, ensuring lessons are learnt and communicated to the key stakeholders of the region and encourage cross-functional learning through the Senior Safety Officer.
- As required, work with office team managers to develop practicable and workable Health and Safety systems, policies and procedures, and also supporting the field managers where required.
- Produce suitable and sufficient risk assessments for activities and processes throughout the field operations and office environments, and where applicable.
- As required organise, complete and manage the process of carrying out risk assessments for all display screen equipment users on office sites.
- Provide up to date Health and Safety advice and information to all levels within the organisation as required.
- As required, take the lead in implementing and reviewing all office fire safety management system and processes.
- Carry out workplace Health and Safety inspections and if necessary, organise any remedial actions to remedy defects.

- On-boarding of contractors to ensure they meet the legislative and internal HS&E requirements.
- As required, review the first aid needs on site in line with legislation and develop suitable arrangements for managing the risk.
- Ensure RIDDOR reportable accidents, asbestos incidents and customer accidents are investigated and reports prepared to submit to the relevant regulator in a timely manner.

- Ensure Health and Safety training needs are identified and delivered where appropriate including, but not limited to, induction, IOSH, field training for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain records appropriately and as required by the Director of Safety and Estates.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the Company’s Health and Safety performance with recommendations for improvement detailed where appropriate, and ensure this is communicated to the Senor Safety Officer and the relevant team managers or regional Head of Service Operations.
- Maintain a good relationship with the Human Resources team, working with them in areas of occupational health.
- Provide assistance to the Senior Safety Officer, enabling them to fulfil their Health and Safety obligations in line with staff welfare, space planning and project management.
- Ensure that all areas of environment, Health and Safety within the remit of the role comply with business requirements, including but not limited to the FCA standards, data protection and corporate governance requirements.
