We are seeking caring, dynamic, motivated and professional individuals to come and work within our Dermatology Clinic - Stratum, Cheltenham. This position involves providing support, advice and holistic care to all our service users and needs someone that can work effectively as part of a small multidisciplinary team as well as independently.
The role requires flexibility in approach and covers a diverse spectrum of duties ranging from "Front of House" administrative support to chaperoning in clinics and providing personalised care autonomously as a Health Care Assistant. Training will be provided as necessary to meet the requirements of the clinic with the opportunity to develop further skills and abilities over time.
Reporting to the Practice Manager and Lead Nurse you will be assisting dermatologists and surgeons with a range of specialised procedures as well as outpatient services such as phlebotomy and wound care.
Main Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Providing a high standards of quality holistic care to all service users.
- Assist in creating a supportive and caring environment within the clinic
- Receiving service users at reception and guiding through to clinic areas
- Updating / uploading data to our internal patient data system.
- Invoicing
- Providing and offering as chaperone in clinic when required
- Plan and organise own workload in order to meet clinic and patient needs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies & procedures at all times.
- Practice multidisciplinary team care and contribute actively towards its successful management.
- Act as patient advocate at all times.
- To support in patient pathways and participate as able in the treatment and monitoring of patients.
- To support in the promotion of health and prevention of ill health - teaching patients and their relatives where appropriate.
- To liaise with other Clinics within The Dermatology Partnership to share best practice and identify better ways of working in line with company standards.
- To embrace new technology and practice which will support patient care.
- The post holder will be expected to demonstrate self- initiative as well as have the ability to manage their own caseload.
- Assist patients and chaperone whilst clinical examination/procedures are being undertaken.
- Responsibility for ensuring patients and carers have sufficient relevant verbal and written information.
- Maintain accurate medical records in line with national guidelines and GDPR
- Support clinic and central admin teams and provide reception cover as required.
Requirements:
- Care certificate or Higher
- A good understanding of CQC policies relating to a clinical environment
