A well-known central London day school is looking for a ‘can-do’ Health & Safety Co-ordinator to ensure that their premises are well managed, maintained, safe and secure - providing excellent facilities for the school community.
This coordinator role requires education to degree level or relevant professional qualifications, with experience in a health and safety/compliance role in an educational setting.
The successful candidate must be a skilled communicator and builder of relationships, and be confident / assertive with all stakeholders from day one. They should be thorough and proactive and keep abreast of relevant government requirements.
Proven experience in setting up effective administrative systems is required, and a confident user of Microsoft packages.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide effective and proactive support for all H&S / compliance matters.
- Ensure correct GDPR practices are followed.
- Develop improved health and safety and compliance systems.
- Maintain / prepare / disseminate reports on pupils’ medical and dietary requirements.
- Conduct safety audits with the School’s Consultant.
- Monitor and manage accident and incident reports.
- Act as the first point of contact for H&S / compliance advice and guidance.
- Report on / respond to changes in any health and safety and compliance legislation.
- Ensure all staff H&S training is up to date / relevant
- Deliver relevant training in line with legislation and school requirements
Based: fully office-based (with some scope for hybrid working during school holidays)
Hours: Mon to Thurs 8.30 - 5.00pm / Fri 8.30 - 3.00pm (term time); 9.30 - 3.00pm (school holidays)
Salary: up to £45k DOE
