We require a self-motivated and pro-active individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to advise, promote and support the maintenance of a safe, healthy and environmentally conscious working environment in the College.
Responsibilities will include advising on general health, safety and environment matters and introducing and developing policies and procedures as appropriate. You will also co-ordinate the accident / incident reporting process; including carrying out investigations, and undertake risk assessments (including personal risk assessments for students with disabilities/learning difficulties). You will advise on health and safety content in the curriculum and support the preparation of suitable Health, Safety and Environment course materials and training aids as well as providing specific training courses as required.
A proven track record of providing information and advice regarding health, safety and environment matters and developing effective policies and procedures is essential, as is previous involvement of implementing and / or maintaining ISO45001 and undertaking risk assessments and HS&E audits. Experience within the construction industry is not essential but is desirable.
You will have completed the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or have an equivalent H&S qualification, and willing to be first aid trained. You should also possess Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy e.g. GCSE Maths and English..
