Health & Safety Manager

Your role: You will be responsible for coordinating and managing all H & S activities on site with Newsprinters and Business Partners. Company values must be demonstrated at all times, taking responsibility for performance, health and safety, quality, continual improvement, administration and development.
The role is full time, but as the site operates 24:7, you would be expected to provide support to all areas where required.
Day to day you will:
Ensure thorough investigation of incidents are undertaken with learning implemented and shared with other sites
Conduct regular audits to ensure best practice around Health and Safety is maintained at the site
Lead site wellbeing initiatives including mental health first aid and other business programs
Identifying H & S training needs and developing / delivering of H & S training
Represent and discuss H & S at site production meetings
Work with local H & S rep’s to ensure engagement, participation and consultation
Prepare site reports in relation to health and safety, analysis and presenting/communicating effectively and concisely
Attend relevant training and development activities to support learning in the role and personal development
Manage the site H & S meetings (H & S Committee)
Undertaking and reviewing CoSHH and other technical risk assessments
Management of the DSE program at site including undertaking desk assessments
What we are looking for from you:
NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent
Chartered membership of IOSH desirable
Manufacturing background would be an advantage
Be a good influencer and communicator at all levels using a variety of media
Knowledge of current H & S legislation
Analyse complex situations and make recommendations for appropriate action
Organised, flexible, adaptable and able manage own day to day workload
Have an innovative approach to problem solving with good knowledge of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and other business improvement techniques and methodologies
