Health & Safety Officer required. Our client is a well-established Biomass company that are looking for Health & Safety Officer due to the growth of the business. This is an office role based in Stafford.
Successful candidates to assess and maintain the Health & Safety of operations within the manufacturing facilities, processes and onsite installations.
Health & Safety Officer Position Overview
- Provide the risk assessments and method statements necessary to ensure safe working practices both in house and on customers premises.
- Maintain a database of employee's skills and qualifications.
- Assess the working practices of all areas within the company to enable the company to work in line with health and safety legislation.
- Carry out a weekly inspection (at minimum) at our Leicester & Stone factories and report on any issues arising, frequency to be determined by yourself.
- Carry out a weekly inspection (at minimum) of an installation and report on any issues arising, frequency to be determined by yourself.
- Produce and maintain an inspection list to facilitate an audit of procedures employed by the company.
- Maintain a training register and ensure all employees are kept up to date with Health & Safety matters that affect their ability to carry out their jobs safely.
- Improve and monitor on site inductions for new employees.
- Test the fire alarm system and maintain PAT testing records of all electrical equipment.
- Maintain continuity in the company's achievement of Safe contractor or equivalent.
- Present a monthly report on the company's position in regard to the above for the Board of Directors.
- Maintain the NEBOSH qualification and ensure your knowledge base is up to date and relevant to the industry & role you are employed in.
- Maintain a UK driving licence acceptable to our insurance company at all times.
- Any other duties as required.

Health & Safety Officer Position Remuneration
- Salary £40,000- £45,000
- Working hours: 40-hour week
- Holiday Package: 24 days + 8BH
