Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our team at GP Surgery Name on a part-time or full-time basis. This is a temporary position with a 6-month contract, offering a competitive hourly rate in the range of 15 to 17 per hour. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting healthcare delivery within our GP surgery.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing high-quality care to patients.
- Conduct basic health checks, such as measuring vital signs and collecting patient histories.
2. Clinical Support:
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms for patient consultations.
- Assist in minor medical procedures and treatments as directed by healthcare professionals.
3. Administrative Duties:
- Record and update patient information accurately in electronic health records.
- Assist with appointment scheduling, prescription requests, and other administrative tasks.
4. Infection Control:
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe healthcare environment.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards.
5. Patient Communication:
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and information.
- Offer support and reassurance to patients during their healthcare visits.
6. Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on patient care.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a GP surgery or primary care setting.
- Relevant qualifications and certifications in healthcare assistance.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
